PlaNet Finance is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the development of microfinance through the provision of technical assistance and consulting services to the microfinance and banking sector. PlaNet Finance develops and animates networks of MFIs, experts and local actors in order to support the development of men and women professional projects.
Background
PlaNet Finance in partnership with Pernod-Ricard is currently implementing a project to promote the sustainability of grape production in the Tavush region (the north-eastern region of Armenia). The 3-year project consists in: creating a cooperative with active membership, partnering with a local MFI to find an adapted financial mechanism for tractor purchase, facilitating tractor management for members of the cooperative, increasing renewal of vine stock through the creation of a pilot nursery, and encouraging an increase in the amount of land cultivated for grape production and/or for crop diversification.
About the Job:
PlaNet Finance is seeking a Project Coordinator – Armenia to support the implementation of grape production project for Year 2 and 3.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate, organize, and support the implementation of operational activities;
- Ensure high-quality standards, timely deliverables;
- Ensure technical assistance to the local cooperative for tractor management, respect of the business plan, financial management;
- Develop an action plan and budget forecast for the establishment of the vine stock nursery, then ensure technical assistance for the launching and management of the pilot nursery;
- Organize the monthly local monitoring committee and project steering committees;
- Provide activity reports and budget monitoring of the project to head office and donors;
- Ensure project monitoring and evaluation;
- Manage the project stakeholders;
- Manage the project risks, schedule, budget, and conflicts;
- Validate the communication tools, training materials used, and methodological guide;
- Set up partnerships with key institutions and identifying financing opportunities.
Qualifications:
- MBA, MA in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Sociology, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent through experience in microfinance;
- At least 5 year-experience in project management;
- Experience in microfinance and/or agricultural development;
- Geographic mobility and ability to adapt to new environments within project context;
- Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple demands, responsive, and able to draw from diverse resources available, excellent teamwork abilities;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills;
- Proactive, rigorous with analytic and synthetic capacities ;
- Detail oriented, focused, and organized;
- Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Languages: Fluent in English and Armenian, French would be a plus.
