About the Organization:
Women’s World Banking (WWB) is an international microfinance support organization and network of 39 MFIs in 27 countries. The mission of WWB is to expand the economic assets, participation, and power of low-income women and their households by helping them access financial services, knowledge and markets.
Background
WWB, in collaboration with various funders, works with affiliate MFIs, banks and innovation partners in Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and South Asia to develop, expand, and diversify the supply of sound financial services, including savings, credit, and insurance in rural and marginal urban areas by improving institutional capacity to reach underserved clients. Current initiatives include:
- Development and pilot of a mobile savings product for market entrepreneurs in Nigeria;
- Expansion of credit services in three rural Latin American markets;
- Financial education and social communication initiatives in Africa and India.
About the Job:
WWB is seeking a Market Research Consultant to conduct qualitative market research on a project basis for partner MFIs and banks.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate logistics for the research and preparatory work including guiding on recruitment;
- Work with research team on research guides and other related documents;
- Execute the field research including record real-time transcripts and facilitate focus groups and in-depth interviews;
- Analyze the findings with other members of the project team and participate in presentation of findings to the institution, if applicable;
- Write sections or the entirety of the research report.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in market research, microfinance, marketing or retail financial services;
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, writing, problem-solving, leadership, project management, and multi-tasking skills required;
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required;
- Regional expertise in Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and/or India is plus.
