About the Job:
Calvert Foundation is looking for a Director – International Lending. S/he will be responsible for leading the Calvert Foundation team in building and maintaining a high credit quality and high social impact loan portfolio. S/he will ensure that an efficient and consistent lending process is applied to all international borrowers from portfolio planning through eventual loan repayment.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop periodic strategic plans for Calvert Foundation’s international loan portfolio, to include analysis of market trends, competition, social impact, and portfolio strategy;
- Lead role in managing major institutional relationships such as OPIC and close partners;
- Coach and develop junior lending officers and coordinate closely with the due diligence team and risk management to fully implement Calvert Foundation lending processes and procedures;
- Market Calvert Foundation’s and community investment partner's (CIP) products and services to the international and community investing industries;
- Identify high-risk loans and prepare written analysis for classified assets. Re-structure troubled loans and implement workouts;
- Review and approve credits as member of staff investment committee;
- Ensure that all international lending activities are in full compliance with local regulations and requirements in the jurisdictions in which the organization operates.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in debt or lending businesses, primarily international;
- Experience working with cross-border transaction and investment operations;
- Strong background in credit and debt finance;
- People management and cross-team execution experience;
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills;
- Overseas work experience and fluency in Spanish a major plus.
