About the Job:
Calvert Foundation is looking for a Vice President – Credit Risk Management to manage enterprise and credit risk for its loan portfolio. S/he will be responsible for all aspects of credit risk management, including policies and procedures, credit review and approval, and portfolio analysis and reporting.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of three risk professionals;
- Develop and maintain investment policies, procedures, and delegations of authority for on balance sheet lending, managed portfolios, and initiatives;
- Oversee the review and approval of proposed investments, and advise on structuring to mitigate risk;
- Oversee the identification of troubled investments, and evaluate loss mitigation plans;
- Develop and maintain technology and tools to facilitate credit analysis and portfolio monitoring, including risk rating methodology, loan loss reserve factors, and peer benchmarks;
- Conduct periodic portfolio analyses and stress tests;
- Provide management reporting;
- Provide staff coaching, development and training;
- Establish effective working relationships throughout the organization;
- Potential to assume broader enterprise risk management responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- MBA or equivalent preferred;
- Minimum 20 years of financial and credit risk management experience, with a minimum of 7 years of people management experience;
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise in both the evaluation of individual credits and industry best practice portfolio management techniques;
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence across the organization, and interact with internal and external constituents, including board members;
- Ability to assume broader enterprise risk management responsibilities;
- Prior experience with social impact investing, particularly in emerging markets preferred, and banking experience a plus.
