About the Job:
The OXUS Group is looking for a Rural Finance Project Manager to lead an agricultural finance project in a MFI in Cambodia for an 8-month assignment.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Carrying out market studies;
- Elaborating adequate procedures and tools;
- Finalizing the prototypes of credit and savings products to test;
- Preparing training materials and carrying out training sessions for both branch and head office staff;
- Monitoring the rural loan portfolio and supporting the Operations department in the project development;
- Conducting regular follow up and evaluation of the pilot phase;
- Initiating partnerships with insurers, stakeholders in the value chain and non-financial service providers in order to develop risk mitigation strategies, as well as other relevant partnerships with other organizations to improve impact of the project;
- Working on the development of suitable rural delivery channels, possibly associated with mobile technology;
- Preparing the dissemination phase.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in rural economics, banking and finance or related fields;
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in regulated financial institutions (banks or MFI) and/or in agricultural value chains. An experience in a developing country would be appreciated;
- Successful experience in developing new microfinance products and processes;
- Proven expertise in project management;
- Ability to work in a team and under tight deadlines;
- Ability to work in isolated areas;
- Training and communication skills;
- Ability to analyze risks and formalize procedures;
- Fluency in French and English.
