About the Job:
Making Cents International is looking for a Manager/Senior Associate – Business Development. S/he will support all activities related to business development, principally with bi-lateral and multi-lateral funders. S/he will often work with multiple proposal teams simultaneously.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support company-wide new business development strategy with company leadership team;
- Manage Making Cents’ work on the identification and tracking of new business opportunities, particularly with USAID and other large donors;
- Maintain and develop new relationships with clients and partners, including prime contractors and subcontractors;
- Lead and coordinate the development of proposals and budgets with input from technical staff for both sub-contracts and prime contracts;
- Coordinate internal brainstorming sessions, including after-action reviews;
- Assist in the recruiting process;
- Assist in formatting and copyediting text for qualifications statements, past performance statements, and proposal inputs;
- Produce and deliver final proposals or proposal inputs under tight deadlines;
- Contribute to Making Cents’ learning activities on youtheconomicopportunities.org and other platforms;
- Represent Making Cents at conferences, meetings, and other events.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, International Relations, or other relevant area;
- Manager level requires at least 5 years of experience, preferably with a minimum of 3 in business development at a large organization or consulting firm. Senior Associate level requires at least 3 years of experience, with a minimum of 2 in business development. Experience with USAID-funded projects is required;
- Technical experience in micro and small enterprise development and/or youth enterprise, livelihoods, and workforce development and economic growth;
- Project and staff managerial experience;
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in English and a second foreign language, French or Arabic desirable;
- Valid US work permit required.
