POSITION: Safety and Security Manager
DUTY STATION: Rabat, Morocco
DATE OF ENTRY ON DUTY: May 2015
SALARY LEVEL: Salary based on experience; Starting at 211, 660 MAD gross; net pay, includes, CIMR, CNSS, Health Insurance, Disability Insurance, Work Accident and Life Insurance and Moroccan taxes.

Peace Corps Morocco is seeking a Safety and Security Manager. Under the general supervision
of the Country Director is responsible for the design, management and implementation of Volunteer
safety and security for Peace Corps Morocco.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility to Provide safety and security support to post and PC Volunteers and ensures that adequate procedures and systems are functioning to support Volunteer safety and security.
  • Inform Country Director in a timely manner of safety incidents where volunteer is a victim of serious crime
  • Participate in the design, development and delivery of trainings in the areas of personal safety and security for PC Volunteers.
  • Primary responsibility to monitor and maintain appropriate documentation regarding post compliance with Peace Corps safety and security regulations.
  • Point of contact with Peace Corps Safety and Security Officer (PCSSO), Safety and Security Desk Officers, local law enforcement agencies and other security officials.
  • Oversee and implement all activities related to Peace Corps Volunteer safety and security.
  • Communicate regularly with all branches of the Moroccan government that oversee Volunteer presence (local and national police, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, etc.).
  • Prepare for and respond to emergencies; maintain, update, and test Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
  • Coordinate and conduct staff and Volunteer training in safety and security practices
  • Maintain emergency communications and Volunteer Warden system
  • Primary person responsible for maintaining and monitoring documentation for incident reporting and response: investigate, report, and analyze incident trends and maintain complete, current and accurate files.
  • Advise on safety and security policy and program; support home-stay and site identification.
  • Coordinate Duty Officer program.
  • Availability to travel in country and worldwide.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AND PROVEN EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING:

  • Moroccan Citizenship
  • University degree
  • Experience working in security related field OR Relevant professional security or law enforcement experience
  • Strong Language ability: Written and Spoken English, French and Arabic required.
  • Ability to work independently and be part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Training experience OR Ability to conduct training and give presentations
  • Ability to use computers, including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Possess Moroccan driver’s license and ability to safely drive a government owned vehicle
