About the Organization:
Micro Pension Foundation is a not for profit organization set up to engage in policy formulation, research, implementation planning, capacity building and design payments solutions. The foundation aims to develop, field-test and mainstream innovative, technology-led solutions to provide low income individuals, and especially the unbanked population, with convenient and affordable access to a secure, cashless payments mechanism that would enable them to frequently transmit micro-savings directly to regulated pension, savings and insurance product providers.
About the Job:
Micro Pension Foundation is looking for Fellows. These are unpaid and volunteer-based positions designed to increase the impact and analyze the impact of various projects taken up by the Foundation. The Fellows will be responsible for fulfilling a core set of deliverables laid out in a work plan that is defined by Micro Pension Foundation.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Micro Pension Foundation to make baseline and end line reports of the various projects undertaken by the Foundation;
- Observe, learn and document various findings of the projects, analyze the findings and present it in a report format so that they can be used by MFIs, associations, policy makers, and various stakeholders to improve their lives and that of others;
- Develop innovative ways to market the product/idea being promoted in the project;
- Write a blog entry every two weeks on the Micro Pension Foundation blog;
- Support Micro Pension’s product, marketing, and organizational development by providing updates and feedback through field reports;
- Utilize individual skill sets to complete special projects for the foundation as appropriate;
- Submission of a final end-of-fellowship report.
Qualifications:
- Background in Economics, Finance, Consulting, and/or International Development;
- Dedication to working in the field with various partners like MFI, truckers association, youth, etc.;
- Minimum four month commitment;
- Excellent analytical skills. Advanced computer skills, particularly the use of databases (Access), spreadsheets (Excel), and other analytical or visualization tools;
- Project management skills;
- Fluency in English;
- Familiarity and comfort with various web applications;
- High degree of flexibility, self-motivation, and problem solving abilities.
